How can I record Loss or Damage to stock?

The Outgoing page can be used to record any Loss or Damage to stock that occurs within the pharmacy. For example, a schedule 8 liquid may be accidentally spilled when measuring out the prescribed quantity.

Any Schedule 8 medications requiring destruction should be entered via the Destruction Register.

  1. Click on the Stock Management page on the sidebar
  2. From the drop-down menu, click Outgoing page
  3. Select Loss or Damage
  4. Choose Drug, specify Quantity and enter any Notes


  5. Enter password, witness details and select the declaration checkbox
  6. Click Continue
  7. The Outgoing Confirmation pop-up displays

  8. Review details, enter password and click Confirm

Pharmacies are required to inform the appropriate state or territory health authority of any stock loss, when necessary. Simply documenting the loss or damage of a product in StrongER does not fulfill the obligation to notify the relevant health authority.
