How do I adjust my stock balance?

Stock adjustments should be avoided in StrongER, however they can be done, all losses of Schedule 8 medications should be reported to the relevant health department

If you have investigated a balance discrepancy in StrongER and still cannot balance your drug register, you can adjust your stock on hand to be the correct amount. Please note that recording a stock adjustment in StrongER does not meet the requirement for reporting any loss of a schedule 8 medication to the relevant health department

  1. To adjust your stock balance of a medication, navigate to Stock Management on the left-hand menu then select Stocktake
  2. Enter the updated balance in the Count field of the medication with the balance discrepancy (i.e. if the count of Endone is currently 40 tablets, but you have 20 tablets in stock, the new count will be 20)

  3. Add a note in the Notes field at the bottom on the screen for why the balance of the medication is being altered (the note will apply to all medications that have a balance in the count field)

  4. Select Continue and review the change of balance on the Confirm Stocktake screen, input your username and password and select Confirm

  5. Updated balance shows

You are able to see if stock level for a medication was adjusted in this method. Navigate to Reports > Transactions, filter transactions by Stocktake and choose a date range you want to run the report for and then select Search. If the In or Out columns display a quantity other than 0 then the count of that medication was adjusted.
