[Stock](https://help.strongroom.ai/knowledge-base-strongcare/nursing?hsLang=en#stock) # Pending Destruction (for authorised states only) ## For states within Australia that are authorised to destroy drugs on site, the Pending Destruction option has been introduced within the StrongCare platform If you are located in a facility that is allowed to destroy drugs on site/or your state regulation requires you to destroy drugs on site, you may select the **Pending Destruction** option. You may have medications that need to be destroyed due to a resident discharge or death. Adding the medications to the Pending Destruction list allows you to expedite the destruction documentation process before the Pharmacist attends your facility.  In this way when the Pharmacist attends your facility the destruction process can be completed quickly as the majority of the documentation has already been completed.  1. Identify any drugs that need to be destroyed and added to the Pending Destructions list 2. To begin this process, click on the **Destroy** button 3. Click on the name of the medication 2. By default, the total number of tablets will display in the quantity field. You may update the quantity field as required. 3. Click the **Add** button If your State legislation allows you to Destroy multiple medications you may click the **Destroy Later + New button**. In this example we only need to add one medication to Pending Destruction.  1. Click the **Destroy Later** button 2. The Primary nurse and witness should enter their User Names, Passwords, then click **Sign** The Pending Destruction medication is visible on the Drug Register. Clicking on the arrow next to the medication will display the details of the transaction. When Pharmacy attends your Aged Care facility to destroy the medications use the Stock tab to complete the documentation that is currently listed as pending destruction. 1. Click on the **Stock** tab 2. Then click on the **Destructions** tab You are taken to the Pending Destructions Register. The medication that we previously placed on the Pending Destructions list is clearly visible on this page. - Expand the arrow next to this medication to view and confirm the details Remember, if you need to locate a different medication or resident, use the search filters at the top of this register. 1. Confirm this is the correct medication 2. Click the **checkbox** to select the medication After you select the check box, several buttons appear at the top  of your page. You may **Reverse this item**, or **Destroy this item**. 1. To continue with this transaction, click on the **Destroy 1 item** button 2. Enter the **Reason for Destruction** – Enter the **date** 3. Click into the **Method of Destruction** field 4.
