Elements of the Resident's Medication page (& buttons & icons) explained

The resident Image, Status, ADRs and personal information including Special Considerations appear on the left of the Medication tab window.

The date the doctor completed the Last Chart Review and the Next Chart Review dates are visible on the lower left of the page. An alert will appear for the prescriber to complete the next Chart Review.

At the top of this page, the prescriber can add a new medication by clicking the Create New Chart button.

Filters:

You may sort by Medication.

You may download or print the medication chart by clicking on the blue circular buttons on the top right of this window. (Hover over the buttons).

Columns:

The first column shows the medication Start and Stop Dates.

The second column displays the Medication Name and Dose Unit, with an orange or blue button to indicate PBS/NON PBS orders.

The third column is the Dose unit per Administration. 

The forth column shows the Medication Administration Frequency.

The next column displays the Route. 

The Status column will display the order as Signed or Draft.

The Type column will show the Type of  Chart, for example, Regular, PRN or Short Term medication.

The Dispense column shows if the drug has been Dispensed or yet to be dispensed by pharmacy. Click on the blue Dispense button to show details of the dispensing information. You will see that the drug is yet to be dispensed by pharmacy. In this instance you may wish to contact the Pharmacy.

Clicking on the green Dispensed button will display details of the dispensed drugs with notes if applicable.

Details will include the Medication type and for example if the medication is Packed/Non–Packed, if the medication is an Unusual Quantity or Dose, or if the medication should not be crushed.

On the left of each medication row click the arrow - this will allow you to view more details of the order.

Click on the Prescriber Details button to see who created the Order, and to view the Prescriber’s contact details. (Then click Close).

With MIMS Integration, clicking on the View CMI/PI button will allow you to  view the Consumer Medicine Information and Pill Identification.

Scroll up and down to view other order details.

This view provides full electronic transparency of what has been prescribed for the resident.
