The Destroy functionality implies that we are removing the drugs from the safe or from Imprest to destroy. You would use the Destroy button if your resident no longer requires the medication due to, for example, the resident transferring out of your aged care facility, in the event of a death or in the event the drug can no longer be used due to medication expiry or damage to the stock. Click on the **Destroy** button under Actions on the left side of the window 2. Enter the **Reason for Destruction** (for example, the Resident has been Discharged) 4. Enter the **Date** 5. Then enter the **Method of Destruction** – (e.g. medication has been returned to Pharmacy) 6. Enter the **Courier Name** and enter any Notes that pertain to the Destruction via Courier 7. You may select either the Resident Medication button or the Imprest/Emergency Meds/Ward Stock option 8. Select the **Resident Medication** option if the medication is allocated to a resident 9. If the resident’s name has not been added at this time you may **Add New Resident**. You should tick the **Include inactive residents** checkbox to ensure that the complete list of Resident’s names will display. 10. Type the Resident’s name 11. Then click the **Search** button 12. Select the correct resident 13. Use the dropdown arrow to select the correct medication to destroy 14. Adjust the amount of stock that is to be destroyed 15. Then click the **Add** button 16. Scroll down the page 17. To destroy a single medication for one resident, click the **Destroy** button 18. You will be prompted to enter your Password then click **Sign** 19. Details of the Destruction will be displayed on the Drug Register. You may also click the **Destruction Only** button to view the Drug Register Destruction list. - There are other options you may enter into the Reason for Destruction and Method of Destruction fields. Other Reason for Destruction options may include:  - Resident Discharged or Resident Deceased - Destroyed on Site into Sharps bin/Crushed into Sharps bin or - Returned to Pharmacy If you need to **Destroy Imprest stock**, begin the Destruction process by clicking on the **Destroy** button. - Click on the **Imprest/Emergency Meds/Ward Stock** button - Begin by typing the name of the medication into the **Select Medication** field - A list of options will display.
